Why are mountains tops snowy:The higher you climb up a mountain, the colder it gets.At the very top of a high mountain, its freezing cold and the Ice and snow never melt.Lower down, its warmer, and trees and plants can grow.Animals that live high up on mountains have thick, woolly coats to keep them warm. Mountaineers must wear special clothes.
where do you get rivers of Ice:Glaciers are giant rivers of Ice which slide down mountain slopes. They begin high up when snow collects in a dip in the rock. The snow hardens and turns to Ice, which slides downhill.Rocks and stones stuck in the Ice scrape away at the rocks and carve out deep valleys.
Why does snow suddenly slide:Sometimes a huge mass of snow suddenly breaks loose and crashes down a mountain. This is called an avalanche. The snow races along faster than a express train and buries any people or houses in its path.

About Mountains
How are mountains made:Mountains are made when to pieces of the crust crash into each other they push the rock.In the between into the giant folds.Other mountains are made when huge blocks of rocks are pushed towards the sky.
Which is the highest mountain: The highest mountain in the world is mighty Mount Everest which is in Asia.It is 29,029 feet tall.It is a part of towering mountains called the Himalayas.
Do mountains shrink:Mountains takes millions of years grow. There are getting smaller everyday. The mountains are battered by the wind, Frost and Ice which brakes off tiny chips of rocks and carry them away.Young mountains have sharp, pointed peaks.Old mountains are smoother and rounder.

How do caves look
What Carves out caves:When rainwater trickles through a crack in the ground, it eats away at the rocks below. This carves out underground caves and tunnels. Some caves are enormous, big enough to fit a huge cathedral inside.
Whats the difference between stalagmites and stalactites:Stalagmites and stalactites are long and pointed, like rocky icicles. But stalagmites grow up from the floor and stalactites grow down from the ceiling.
Who Explores caves:People who like to explore caves and tunnels are called pothole' rs.they climb down on ropes or ladders. It's dark, wet and cold underground. The pothole rs wear warm, waterproof clothes and carry torches so they can see.

How are rocks made
The Earth's crust is made of different kinds of rock. Each kind is made in a different way. Some rock is pushed underground, where the rock is heated and squeezed. It changes into into a different rock called metamorphic rock.
What are fire rocks: Fire rocks are also called igneous rocks. They are made deep inside the Earth, when hot, melted rocks cool and harden.Igneous rocks shoot out of volcanoes when they erupt.Rivers carry small particles called sediment to the sea.Sediment from the rivers forms layers of new rock called Sedimentary rock.
Which rocks are made from shells:Some rocks are made from tiny grains of rock squashed together in layers. This is called sedimentary rock.It some times contains fossil plants and animals.Chalk is a kind of sedimentary rock.It is made from the shells of tiny sea creatures that lived millions of years ago.
TRUE OR FALSE
Rocks can't float in water.
False:Pumice is a kind of Igneous rocks. It is so light it can float in water.

About Earth
Whats under the ground:The ground is made of layers and the layers are made of hard rock and there is even melted rock.the ground is very thick if you jump up and down you wont fall through the ground. It is 25 miles on dry land and it is 5miles thick under the sea. What is a Globe:A globe is a model of the Earth.
What is latitude and longitude:The lines running parallel to the Equator is called latitude. The circular lines running through the North Pole and South Pole is called longitude.
What is a continent? The Earth's crust is cracked into 7 pieces called continents. The large mass of land is called continent.Starting with the biggest continent they are Asia,Africa,North America,South America, Antarctica,Europe, Australia.
What is an Atlas:An Atlas is a collection of map in a from of a book.
What is a grid:A pattern of a lines that form a Ceres of Square this is called a grid.
What is a map:A map is a drawing of a whole or a part of Earths surface on a flat surface like paper.
